Forster, in the Great Lakes region of NSW, is well-known as a holiday hotspot and Reflections Forster Beach has the best address in town. Whether it’s a short break with the family, or you’re planning to stay several weeks, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained all within cooee of this lovely park. Here’s some of our favourites.

Wallis Lake

The large and lovely centrepiece of the Forster Tuncurry area, Wallis Lake and its waterways are renowned as a fishing, boating and swimming paradise. Breathtakingly beautiful, Wallis Lake boasts crystal-clear blue water, dolphins and birdlife, delicious Sydney Rock Oysters and endless fun to be had. Hire a paddleboard, go for a snorkel, or get out the rod and see what’s biting.

Forster Beach

Just 50m from Forster Beach Holiday Park is the main beach at Forster. Patrolled during the busy periods and with the bonus of an ocean pool, this beach is popular with locals, tourists, and the occasional pod of body-surfing dolphins. Take a dip, then enjoy a coffee or a light meal at the shoes-optional Beach Bums Café.

Wining and Dining

Forster has plenty of delicious food experiences, all within a short walk of Reflections Holiday Parks Forster Beach. Try Spice Monkey for delicious Asian fusion cuisine in an idyllic setting, or The Sicilian for fine Southern Italian fare. The Reef Bar Grill is another smart choice - a haven of good food, good drinks and good times with an emphasis on fine local produce.

It’s fun to stay at the ….

YMCA! Well, you won’t need to stay there, but you can play there and the Forster YMCA (also known as the Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre) has plenty to offer. About a 20-minute walk from here you’ll find an indoor swimming pool, aqua aerobics, group fitness classes and a range of indoor sports.

Bennett’s Head Lookout

For an unforgettable walk-with-a-view, it’s hard to go past the Bicentennial Walk to Bennett’s Head. With its sweeping ocean outlook, this lookout is a popular destination for whale-watching, admiring the sunset and generally feeling at one with the world. It’s an hour return-trip, so be sure to pack comfortable shoes.
