This gorgeous NSW South Coast haven is ready and waiting to take you on an adventure. With a mild, coastal climate and postcard-like natural scenery, it’s the perfect place to set up and explore.
Bermagui puts you close to the region’s most-loved spots with a three-day Bermagui itinerary designed to help you sightsee and relax with ease.
Start your morning fresh with a dip at the ocean-fed Bermagui Blue Pool, great at low tide for the little ones. After you've dried off, take a stroll around Bermagui Fishermen's Wharf to watch boats come and go, grab a latte or snag some fish and chips by the water.
If you're into getting out on the water, a must-do activity is deep-sea fishing. There are charter boats you can join (or hire your own) to try your luck at angling for a yellowfin tuna or marlin.
If you're stumped for ideas on what to do in Bermagui in the afternoon, unroll your towel at Horseshoe Bay Beach for more swimming or a snorkel. Then get your fill of panoramic views by heading up to Michael Lerner Lookout to see the coastline drenched in the beautiful colours of golden hour.

To get out and stretch your legs, check out the Bermagui to Wallaga Coastal Walk. Hugging the ocean, this stretch of coastline can be tailored to how far you want to go (from a quick stroll to a longer walk). Stop at the many beaches or lookouts to get your holiday snaps or have a swim along the way.
If you’re feeling more ambitious or wondering what to do around Bermagui, it's worth the 30-minute drive to Mimosa Rocks National Park for a bush walk. While you're in the area, make sure you pop into Navigate Arts, a stunning local arts venue set in Old Tanja Church.
Or if you want to stay closer to town, grab some picnic supplies and take them down to the banks of the Bermagui River to unwind. And after a long day of exploring, nothing beats coming back home to Reflections Bermagui.

It's time for the cultural component of your Bermagui itinerary with a trip to the Bermagui War Memorial to learn about the area's involvement in different wars. Set right on the oceanfront, it's the perfect spot to reflect after you grab a coffee from nearby cafes, like Boneless or Elsewhere.
Afterwards, take the family to Montreal Goldfield, Australia's largest seaside goldfield (open Thursday to Sunday). Great for families, local guides can walk you through the fascinating history of the site. It's a good option for what to see in Bermagui when you're ready for a beach break!
Alternatively, you can head back over the bridge into town to shop local on Lamont Street for handmade art, jewellery, and souvenirs.
Round out your day by heading over to the Bermagui Growers & Makers Market, open on Thursday afternoons, for fresh produce and local colour. Then, as the sun sets, treat yourself to a delicious meal at Mimosa Wines, Bermagui Beach Hotel or The Terrace Restaurant at Bermagui Country Club.

One of the most well-known activities in Bermagui is fishing. The area is famous for its deep sea fishing charters, where anglers of all levels can go after feisty marlin and yellow fin tuna out in the Pacific, or head to nearby lakes and rivers for a spot of estuary fishing.
Bermagui Blue Pool is around 50m long and varies in depth. Some parts are waist-deep, others are much deeper or shallower. It also depends on the tide, as higher tides bring in more ocean water and lower tides pull water back out.
'Bermagui' is derived from 'permageua' and possibly means "canoe with paddles". It comes from the local Aboriginal language, Dyirringanj, which is part of the Yuin Nation. And here's how to pronounce Bermagui: buh-muh-gyoo-ee.
