Red Rock Itinerary Ideas

3 Days in Red Rock, NSW

Escape on a glorious trip to Red Rock on the NSW Coffs Coast for good food, good sightseeing, and good vibes. It’s one of those destinations that has flown under the radar despite being so close to Coffs Harbour and other tranquil seaside locales.

Here’s a 3-day Red Rock itinerary you can roll out for your next holiday, whether it’s a long weekend, couples retreat or family-style two-week break.

Day 1: Celebrate the coastline

Make your first day in Red Rock all about the sparkling coastline. Take your morning latte with you for sunrise on Red Rock Beach, considered to have some of the clearest water in the region. Start in the south, then you can walk north and climb Red Rock Headland and feel on top of the world with a sensational panorama.

As the afternoon approaches, you could hire a kayak or stand-up paddleboard and cruise the Corinidi River. But if you want something to get your blood pumping, take on the challenging Wooli to Red Rock walk, a remote section of the Yuraygir Coastal Walk. It’s a great day hike or can be tacked onto a multi-day adventure.

If exploring an incredible marine habitat is more your speed, you’ll want to carve out some time in your Red Rock itinerary to visit the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Covering more than 70,000 hectares, it’s a truly special coastal area, great for boating, diving and whale watching in season.

Day 2: Immerse yourself in culture

After spending a day locally settling in and enjoying the coastline, dedicate day two to getting to know the cultural history and present creative heart of the Coffs Coast. There are a number of cultural and educational centres, as well as art galleries, you can visit to explore the area's cultural heritage, such as:
