Kids Music Production Workshops

Give your young creatives the chance to explore the world of electronic music production these school holidays! Across three themed weeks, participants will learn hands-on skills in rhythm, sampling, looping and track creation using Ableton 12 Lite and a range of fun tools and plugins. Sessions are age-grouped to ensure the perfect learning environment. Week 1: Rhythm Section Kids dive into rhythm patterns across EDM subgenres using a custom drum rack. They'll explore sound selection, syncopation, polyrhythms, accents and effects—building the foundations of their first beats. Week 2: Sampling and Resampling Playground Students learn to record their own samples and creatively manipulate audio. They'll experiment with resampling, transforming MIDI to audio, and recycling sounds to build new textures and ideas. Week 3: The Ultimate Groove This week brings everything together! Participants explore loops and groove to create their first "mini track." They'll develop a full tech house section and learn the basics of sidechain compression.
