The Ballina Shire Concert Band presents the Ballina Big Band Blow In, a one-day community music event in Ballina.
This unique workshop invites brass, woodwind and percussion players of all ages and abilities to come together in a supportive, fun environment. Musicians from community bands across the Northern Rivers, including Ballina, Lismore, Tweed and beyond, will join with younger players from local schools to experience the thrill of performing in a large concert band.
Participants receive sheet music in advance to practise at home before gathering for a full-day rehearsal and performance. A morning tea break and barbeque lunch are provided, creating plenty of opportunities to meet new people and share in the joy of music-making.
The day concludes with a public concert where the newly formed big band will showcase its sound. Community members are warmly invited to enjoy the finale, celebrating connection and creativity through music.
