Ballina Street Art Project Allan Leisk

Northern Rivers digital artist Allan Leisk, known as AutoEclectus, specialises in generative art created through creative coding. His unique practice involves hand-coding algorithms—without the use of AI—to produce visually striking digital artworks. As a leading figure in the field of algorithmic art, Leisk explores how code can express organic forms and emotional depth. His work balances mathematical precision with natural aesthetics, resulting in pieces that feel both digital and deeply human. Allan's generative artworks have been published and collected as NFTs on platforms including fxhash, Teia, Objkt, and Versum, positioning him within the global digital art and crypto art communities. Kaibō (2023) is a generative piece that dissects organic shapes into precise geometric elements, reconfiguring them to reveal complex, nature-inspired patterns. Drawing on mathematical principles like the Fibonacci sequence and fractal geometry, the work reflects the deep connection between art, nature, and mathematics. Folded Circle (2023) blends 1960s hard-edge painting with circular motifs found in nature. The algorithm uses randomness to determine colour palettes, folds, and shapes, producing a series of vibrant digital compositions. Inspired by tree rings, water ripples, and planetary motion, the artwork explores the symbolic and structural role of circles in both nature and digital design.
