The piece celebrates the beauty and sacredness of native birdlife and their deep connection to the rivers and oceans that define the Ballina Shire.
The sculpture captures the majesty of the sea eagle in flight, symbolising freedom, balance, and the enduring bond between nature and community. Its graceful form and earthy materials reflect the coastal landscape — a perfect blend of strength, movement, and natural harmony.
Raised in the northern rainforests of New South Wales, the artist Leith Walton draws endless inspiration from the natural world and its rhythms. His creative practice spans illustration, sculpture, and mural work — weaving fantasy, storytelling, and environmental reflection into each piece.
