In 2024, they celebrate the centenary of the biodynamic movement. It began in 1924 when a group of farmers noticed increased disease and decreased resilience in both animals and plants.
Alongside this, there were concerns about the negative impacts of newly introduced agro-industrial practices and chemical fertilisers. They approached Rudolf Steiner, convinced there had to be a better way to farm and work with nature. Steiner replied in a series of eight lectures that were later published as the "Agriculture Course" and a new agricultural school was formed and applied all over the world.
A Walk and Talk is a very casual meander through our commercial and certified organic marketgarden. At their Walk and Talk With The Italian Farmer, Luigi will discuss Biodynamics and how it is applied to their context. You will learn how Biodynamics saved our market garden from the 2021/2022 floods and view biodynamics in practice. They will discuss their techniques in the garden, and they will share how they have applied biodynamics holistically in our daily lives.
This special tour is part of their celebration for 100 Years Of Biodynamics, 1924 - 2024.
