Dog Drawing Class

Dog Drawing in Lennox Head isn't your average life drawing session. It's a fun, hands-on opportunity to meet a new furry friend each week—dogs who are more than happy to be the centre of attention (and yes, they accept treats and scratches as payment). Spaces are limited, and all skill levels are welcome! The class is BYO drinks, but art supplies and a grazing board are supplied and easygoing music sets the tone. Each class features a different canine model, offering a delightful variety of breeds, shapes, and personalities. From smooshy snouts to elegant limbs and enthusiastic tail-waggers, participants can try their hand at fast sketches or take a more refined approach with guided, timed exercises. Local artist Christina leads the session, offering tips and tricks across different media including charcoal, watercolours, and scratchboard. The atmosphere is intentionally relaxed and welcoming. Guests are encouraged to move freely, interact with the dog, and connect with fellow artists. It's not just about drawing—it's about capturing character, sparking creativity, and enjoying a playful, social space. Sharing sketches is encouraged, and seeing each participant's unique take on the week's pup is half the fun. New faces (both human and canine) are always welcome. Participants can even nominate their own dog to be the star of an upcoming class by simply popping the pup's name into the draw.
