Mini Farmers - Spring Has Sprung!

These school holidays take the kids to The Farm in Byron Bay for their Farm Kids sessions where they take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. They educate them about the cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. They discuss concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, pollination, organic farming, healthy soil and composting and other ethical farming practices. The children get up close and personal with their pet chickens and when available taste veggies, edible flowers and herbs. In the Spring Has Sprung session the kids will get to celebrate new growth and new life on the farm! Kids will take part in a spring scavenger hunt to spot baby animals, blossoms, bees, fresh green leaves, and bird nests. Activities include decorating a pot with a paper flower collage and planting a marigold, sunflower, or nasturtium to take home, creating spring-inspired mini canvas art with natural materials from the farm, making a fresh herb pesto to enjoy on farm-fresh bread, and preparing blossom-infused water with lemon, strawberries, and edible flowers for a refreshing spring drink. A day full of nature, creativity, and seasonal flavours! Ideal for children aged 5 and over.
