These school holidays take the kids to The Farm in Byron Bay for their Farm Kids sessions where they take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. They educate them about the cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. They discuss concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, pollination, organic farming, healthy soil and composting and other ethical farming practices. The children get up close and personal with their pet chickens and when available taste veggies, edible flowers and herbs.
In the Let's Go Nuts session the kids will discover how tiny seeds grow into amazing plants, make yummy nut-and-seed snacks, and join in hands-on nature activities. Activities include rolling ground nuts, oats, and honey into delicious energy balls, creating vibrant seed mosaics on mini canvases, designing a hanging seed pod art mobile, and racing different seeds to see which ones fly, roll, or float the best. A day of science, creativity, and tasty fun!
