Cuttagee Beach and Lake

Explore the sparkling blue waters of Cuttagee Beach and Lake, found south of Bermagui. The beach is popular for surfing, swimming and fishing. The lake, framed by one of the Sapphire Coast's iconic single lane wooden bridges, is the perfect spot for young children to play in the shallow, gentle waters when the lake is open to the sea. It is also a great location for canoeing, kayaking, fishing and prawning (in season). A bush walk to Cuttagee's northern headland, along the track just north of the bridge, provides stunning coastal views, whale watching (in season) and access to Barragoot Beach, 3.5 kilometres of pristine sand. There are no amenities, and the beach and lake are not patrolled, so care should be taken at all times when swimming and surfing. There is a dog leash-free area from the south end of the beach to just before the lake. Cuttagee Beach and Lake can be found eight kilometres south of Bermagui along the Tathra-Bermagui Road.
