The Lions Junction Park - Tumut

The Lions Junction Park (known as The Junction) is a beautiful, peaceful park at the junction of the Goobarragandra and Tumut Rivers, only a few minutes from the centre of Tumut. This family-friendly park is perfect for picnicking or just lazing the afternoon away under the trees, and enjoying the picturesque clear rivers. The Goobarragandra River is popular for swimming in summer, while the Tumut River (much faster flowing) is the place to launch your kayak or canoe to paddle down to the Riverglade Caravan Park in Tumut. During trout season the fishing is excellent. Birdwatchers can find kingfishers, dollar birds, robins, water birds, rosellas, parrots, cockatoos, finches, robins and fairywrens, along with the more common kookaburras, magpies, ravens and crows, magpie larks and willie wagtails that are just about always visible in the region.
