Gunnedah Cultural Precinct

Gunnedah's Cultural Precinct is a multi faceted venue incorporating the heritage listed Town Hall, Civic Cinema, Smithurst Theatre, Bicentennial Creative Arts Spaces, Mooki, Studio and Meeting Rooms and Gunnedah Visitor Information Centre. The Cultural Precinct is the focal point for cultural activities. Mixed media Murals created by local artists feature within the precinct and the Galleries exhibit Art from local, regional, national emerging and established artists and numerous community contributed exhibitions. The 136 Seat Cinema offers new release films weekly from Thursday to Sunday. Full weekly Children's program during School holiday periods, Drama Classes during school terms and local and touring live theatre productions regularly. A monthly changing program of visiting exhibitions is displayed in the Art Gallery space and a permanent feature in the front Gallery highlights creative works from multi talented members of Arts Gunnedah. Both Galleries open daily, with a great variety of mixed media Art and Ceramics for sale. The Cultural Precinct has various venues and rooms available for hire. Be it arts, cultural, educational, professional, community meetings, gatherings, seminars or corporate events. A range of activities from small to large-scale events for hundreds of people can be catered for, The precinct is a hub of activity.
