The Bicentennial Creative Arts Centre is located within Gunnedah's bustling Cultural Precinct hub. The area incorporates the Gunnedah Town Hall, Civic Cinema, Smithurst Theatre, Music Conservatorium and Visitor Information Centre.
The Bicentennial Creative Arts Centre features two galleries operated by the Gunnedah Shire Council and the local group Arts Gunnedah. The Galleries feature changing exhibitions from local and regional artists and groups, offer regular workshops and Gallery gatherings as well as live performances. The space is also the home of the Gunnedah Community Art Collection, some of which are on display throughout the Cultural precinct hub.
There is an Art Studio Room and Courtyard Garden space, a Meeting Room and a small kitchen area available for hire for Workshops, Seminars and meetings.
The overarching theme of the precinct is 'water' and the area features a trilogy of stunning artworks around that theme; the Rainbow Serpent Water Feature out front of the Civic Theatre. The Two Rivers Mosaic Mural compliments the Visitor Information Centre space and the Red River Gum mural overlooks the small coffee break corner outside the courtyard.
