There's something special about Yamba. From the quaint old worldy charm of the high street, up and coming dining scene to the oh so popular with the surfers beaches like Angourie Point and Yamba Main Beach. That's why we were so excited to send Ambassador Krystal Knight with her friends and family for a stay in our heritage-listed Yamba Lighthouse Cottages and to experience Yamba, however vicariously through their shoes...
"Our weekend at the Yamba Lighthouse Cottages was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived at our accommodation, it felt like a classic Aussie summer holiday – sunshine, beaches, and the perfect spot to unwind with family and friends.
We came prepared for anything (yes, even packed board games and wet weather gear – just in case), but Mother Nature was on our side, and the weekend was all blue skies and sunshine. Needless to say, we spent most of our time outdoors, soaking it all in.
Beach days and rock pool adventures in Yamba
Yamba’s beaches never fail to impress. We started with Pippi Beach, where we explored rock pools near the Green Pools - nature’s little treasures that kept the kids fascinated for hours. On Sunday, we headed to Main Beach for more rock pool discoveries and boogie boarding. The ocean was as inviting as ever, and we made the most of every moment.
Of course, we couldn’t visit Yamba without a stop at the Pacific Hotel. The food was an absolute 10/10 (seriously, so good!). Sure, there was some scaffolding, but it didn’t take away from the deliciousness or the stunning views.
Relaxation and roo visitors
Back at the cottages, the vibes were just as good. The backyard and BBQ area were perfect for lazy afternoons and evening catch-ups. We even had some friendly kangaroo visitors, which was a highlight for the kids. The house itself was so well-equipped that even the most discerning cooks in our group were impressed.
Making memories
This trip was all about connection—whether it was hanging out at the house, exploring grassy surrounds, or sharing laughs over a backyard barbecue. It was the perfect setup for two families, and we left with some seriously special memories to cherish.
If we had to pick one thing to note, it’d be the bindies in the grass (ouch!), but hey, isn’t that just part of the Aussie summer experience?
Thank you to Reflections for such an incredible escape. We’re already dreaming about our next visit. Yamba, you have our hearts!"
