Walks and Hikes in Bermagui

Adventure at the water's edge

Take the Bermagui Heritage Trail from Cuttagee Beach to Wallaga Lake and learn about 12 of the area's most significant people and places. It’s one of the easier, family-friendly walks in Bermagui with great views and plenty of spots to pause along the way.

For incredible coastal views, the Camel Rock to Murunna Point walk delivers. With Gulaga Mountain as a backdrop and the sparkling ocean as company, spot ancient rock formations along the way, including Camel Rock and Horse Head Rock. And if you're on the trail from August to November, keep an eye out for migrating humpback whales!

Bermagui Coastal Walk

For 18km, immerse yourself in views of the Sapphire Coast's golden sand, flora and fauna on the iconic Bermagui Coastal Walk. It's one of the walks Bermagui is known for: expect changing scenery (ocean cliffs, beaches, rock platforms and the famous Blue Pool) and options to walk short sections if you’re not tackling the whole route.

Bushlands and forest jaunts

If being surrounded by trees and scrub is your dream, try some of the Bermagui bush walks in Bermagui State Forest. Stop at the tranquil picnic area for a break on the banks of the Black Lagoon, or explore one of the many fire trails if you've got a 4WD.

Bermagui Flora & Fauna Reserve

Wander down the boardwalks above wetlands and follow the signs to learn more about the area on the Bermagui Flora & Fauna Reserve. Look out for white-bellied sea eagles, Black Swans and even the Common Eastern Froglet, who may hop onto your path.

Hinterland hikes

Gulaga National Park

One of the best Bermagui hikes can be found in Gulaga National Park. Around 16km with steep ascents and a stunning summit loop, the Gulaga Mountain Walk will get you sweaty as you travel around the ancient forested volcano.
