In the surrounding area, you can see breathtaking stretches of coastline dotted with other quaint towns to explore, like Pambula and Eden.

A short (or long) road trip is a popular way to get to Bermagui. South Coast NSW is connected by the Princes Hwy which can take you from Sydney to Adelaide via Melbourne. Depending on where you start and how much time you have up your sleeve, driving to Bermagui is a fantastic way to see more of the east coast on your way.

Premier Motor Service runs a coach from Sydney to Eden that stops in Bermagui. Or if you're coming from Melbourne, catch the V/Line Sapphire Coast Link. It's a combination of train and coach services to get you into town directly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flights to Bermagui land at two nearby airports: Moruya Airport (Rex Airlines) and Merimbula Airport (Rex and Qantas Airways). It's about an hour and change flying from either Melbourne or Sydney, then a 1 hour drive from either airport into Bermagui.
For airport transfers, you can book a shuttle with Bermi and Beyond, who also offer options for getting around the local area when you're there.
There’s no direct rail service to Bermagui, but you can connect via Nowra or Wollongong via the South Coast Line from Sydney’s Central Station, or via Bairnsdale when travelling from Melbourne. Each station links to coach services that continue down the coast.
The Sapphire Coast is a beautiful backdrop for cycling adventures in and around Bermagui. With kilometres of paths and routes to explore, you can cycle locally from Narooma to Bermagui, or set yourself the challenge of biking all the way from Melbourne along twisting and winding highways.
Once you've arrived and set up camp at Reflections Bermagui, get out on foot to stretch your legs. There's a brilliant Coastal Walk and a Heritage Trail for history buffs to discover, and countless paved paths to saunter down at your own leisurely pace. The charming town centre is easy to navigate and walk between shops, cafes and the marina.

Gulaga National Park was created in January 2001. It covers an area of 4673ha.
Gulaga (Mount Dromedary) and the surrounding landscape have great spiritual significance to local Aboriginal people, particularly Aboriginal women. The park also incorporates the former Wallaga Lake National Park. In May 2006 the park was handed back to its traditional Aboriginal owners in an historic agreement signed by the NSW Environment Minister and the Yuin people.

There are more than 100 ocean-fed rock pools along the NSW coast and the Blue Pool in Bermagui is regularly ranked among the prettiest. This gem along the Sapphire Coast is all opaline hues, think azure fading to turquoise to blush and then canary yellow.
Clamber down the cliff and you’re greeted by the 50 metre-long seawater swimming hole, expanded to its current size in 1937 by Bermagui resident and philanthropist Bill Dickinson. He’d be happy to hear that his efforts over the decades have kept the crowds coming, it’s an idyllic swimming and snorkelling spot for the whole family (there’s an adjacent wading pool for kids).
Dip your head under water and you’ll likely be greeted by a cornucopia of marine life, from anemones and sea stars to crabs, fish and marine snails. Handy facilities include a toilet, shower and change room.
If you’re not quite ready to take the plunge, head to the viewing platform for dazzling views over the pool and coast, with whale sightings possible over the winter and spring months.

Bermagui is right between two airports: Moruya Airport to the north and Merimbula Airport to the south. Both are about a 1 hour drive with Merimbula Airport being slightly closer.
From Bermagui town centre, it's around a 15 minute drive north (10km) to get to this incredible rock formation. Take Wallaga Lake Road and follow the signs for Horse Head Rock and Camel Rock. When you arrive, there’s a small carpark near the viewing area and walking access to the rock formations.
Bermagui is about 670km north east from the city of Melbourne. That translates to an 8 hour drive or a quick 1 hour flight that connects via Merimbula Airport.
Bermagui is just shy of 400km from Sydney's metropolitan area. You can drive to Bermagui in about 5 hours via the Princes Hwy/AI and M1, or find your way there via bus, train or plane.
Yes, Bermagui is part of the Bega Valley Shire on the New South Wales Sapphire Coast. It's one of the valley's smaller coastal towns, but still worth visiting if you love a relaxed atmosphere and exploring beaches, forests and ancient rock formations, like Camel Rock.
