Salty days and slow days at Moonee Beach

If your idea of heaven is golden sand, turquoise waters, and a nature reserve that's as welcoming as your own backyard, Moonee Beach is for you! Just north of Coffs Harbour, this relaxed coastal haven is where the estuary meets the sea. It’s perfect for kayaking, fishing, and lazing about while the tides do their thing.

Whether you’re here for a quick weekend reset or a week of unwinding, the vibe is simple: slow mornings, salty hair, and plenty of time outdoors. Moonee Beach is the kind of place where you can paddleboard at sunrise, sink a cold one at Moonee Beach Hotel by afternoon, and still have enough daylight left for a sunset walk along the headland.

Where is Moonee Beach?

Moonee Beach is on the Mid North Coast of NSW, just 15 minutes north of Coffs Harbour and about 4 hours south of Brisbane via the Pacific Highway. Travelling from Sydney? You’re looking at a solid 6-hour drive up the coast — or you take a 1-hour flight into Coffs Harbour Airport and drive from there in less than 20 minutes.
