Reflections Holidays is working towards a new playground at Terrace Park in the first half of 2026. We understand the previous playground at this location was highly valued for families to visit and spend time together. Its removal and replacement have understandably caused disappointment and prompted questions within the community. We recognise the impact this interim period may have on families and appreciate the community’s patience while planning for a new playground progresses.
The previous playground was removed in late 2025 following a safety assessment, which determined that it no longer met required safety standards and posed a potential risk to users. The decision was made in line with our duty of care to ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors and users of the playground.
We thank the community for their participation and feedback throughout the engagement process. Community engagement has now been completed, and the community has selected a preferred playground design.
The project has now progressed to the manufacturing stage of the selected playground equipment. Reflections Holidays continues to work closely with Byron Shire Council to ensure the playground aligns with the surrounding facilities and meets all required safety standards.
Installation of the new playground is anticipated for July 2026, subject to manufacturing and site conditions.

Reflections Holidays remains committed to keeping the community informed as the project progresses through manufacturing and installation.
We appreciate the community’s ongoing interest and patience and will continue to share updates at key milestones.

Reflections is the Crown land manager for three holiday parks in Brunswick Heads and significant areas of Crown land, which are community reserve spaces such as Banner Park and Torakina Park. We employ local people who are a part of the Brunswick Heads community. Many have children at local schools, participate in local community activities, and care deeply for the land they work and play on. Community feedback is often directed at our local team, who are incredibly busy operating the holiday parks and looking after the Crown reserves for the enjoyment of guests and visitors.
