Construction of new stairs at Little Beach is expected to start in early December.
In March, Reflections informed the community that project funding had been secured. It was also confirmed at this time that the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s Soil Conservation Service was engaged to undertake the detailed design of the stairs and manage the project’s delivery because of the sensitive coastal environment.
We are aware that the replacement of the stairs has been a great concern for locals and that the project has taken some time to get to this stage.
The sensitive environment where this work is to be completed has added complexities and meant progress has been slower than hoped.
Reflections is pleased that work is set to start and this project can be finalised for the benefit of the community and visitors to the area.
We are aware of the culturally significant Red Rock Headland and surrounding areas and will work with the Coffs Harbour Local Aboriginal Land Council and the Traditional Owners to ensure the cultural sensitivity of this area is protected.

Work is planned to start on Monday 10 November to demolish the former restaurant and managers’ residence...
