When holidaying in NSW, food can be a big part of the experience. Reflections Holidays offers some of the cooking facilities you need to enjoy on your time away from home.
From simple BBQ areas, to equipped kitchens, you can cook your way while on holiday. Most holiday parks feature camp kitchens fitted with fridges, cooktops, barbecues, kettles, toasters, and a microwave.
The camp kitchens and BBQ areas at Reflections Holidays are perfect for getting together with friends and family and enjoying a meal on a warm summer night. Bring your own cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There are seating options in the camp kitchen and BBQ areas, so everyone can sit down together and enjoy their meal/s.
Some parks don't have camp kitchens, and but there is nothing better than cooking on fire. Check out what the park allows before you travel as each is different.
If campsite cooking isn't for you, many parks have kiosks that sell items and snacks, and the waterside location of our parks puts you very close to some of the nicest restaurants NSW has on offer.
You won't be disappointed when you stay at Reflections Holidays!
Using a gas BBQ in Australia is about as simple as it gets—too easy! Most models come with an ignition button, so all you need to do is open the lid, turn on the gas, and push the button. You’ll usually hear a click and see the flame kick in. Many BBQs also have an indicator light, wait for it to turn green, and you're good to go. That’s it. Bob’s your uncle!
Cleaning is just as laid-back:
When it comes to what you can cook—well, the sky’s the limit. Get your snags sizzling, whip up a full brekky (eggs, bacon, tomatoes and all), brown your mince for taco night, throw on some chicken fajitas, or flip a few burgers. Honestly, it handles the lot—and yes, snags definitely deserve a second mention.
Most Reflections parks have BBQs inside the park. Look out for the BBQ icon on the website or park map
Camp kitchens come in all shapes and styles. Some are open-air, where you can flip snags under the stars, while others are fully enclosed so you’re covered rain or shine. A few have views that are pretty hard to beat, like Seal Rocks or Bonny Hills, where cooking comes with a side of ocean breeze. And then there’s the brand new kitchen at Forster Beach, which really steps things up. It’s modern, roomy, and perfect for cooking up a feed with mates or the family.
Most camp kitchens have all the basics you’d expect:
Some even come with cooktops and ovens if you’re feeling fancy.
You can whip up all sorts of meals: toast your bagel, scramble some eggs, cook a steak, throw together a stir-fry, or even bake a lasagne if the oven’s going.
Keep a look out for the icons below on the website or park map to know where the camp kitchens are.
When it comes to food planning whilst on holiday, its always helpful to start with a meal plan, knowledge about what cooking facilities are available at the park, and what type of food and local produce you can get locally.
And camp food doesn't always just means snags on the BBQ (although those are good too!) - check out our camp cooking recipe guide below before you head out for some fab ideas to keep your holiday food just as epic as the location.
