Stayed in caravan park with friends. Great camp kitchen for small groups. Had a couple of large sites with plenty of grass and a beautiful large shady tree to meet under.. Not alot were like this though. Short walk to beach, river, surf club (good happy hour cheap buckets of corona stubbies) and RSL.

We came in November 2025, and got one of the not so quite luxury, cabin 28. They’ve aged a fair bit, compared to the photos of them, from five years ago on their brochure. I recommend you ask for cabins between 24 to 31. Which have a beautiful view of the river break walls and river entrance. And the calm waters in front to keep an eye on your kids. With a good size veranda. BBQ, outside sink, and a small bar fridge. Good size table and seating. Inside, your own W/M and clothes dryer. Beautiful big stainless steel fridge. Very high windows/ louvres/roller blinds/curtains. Coffee machine/Pods. Very well equipped Utensils. Plenty of drinking glasses if you have friends over. Big ice trays in fridge. Beautiful modern bathroom/ big walk in shower. High louvred windows. Good size tv. Netflix, Stan, Disney, YouTube. Nice furnishings and cushions. 2 nice coffee tables. Big fall asleep on lounge. A/C in lounge rm, and main bedroom. Small wall Fan in kids room, which makes an annoying humming sound. Good cupboard and hanging space in both rms. Modern book reading lights. Very tall dress mirror. Heaps of power points inside and USB connections. And lots of other little touches to make your stay enjoyable. I have one gripe. And that’s in the next section. No complaints about the cleanliness of the cabin. The staff do a great job. I was surprised that there were no speed bumps. It would be a race track for all e- bikes and e-scooters. On school holidays. In the new park section, next to the river. And the bitumen is nice and smooth for a skateboarding or roller blades. Don’t forget the helmets. In the off season, it was so quiet. Hardly anyone walking past the front of your cabin all day. An unhindered view of the river all day. It was so relaxing. With no midges or mosquitoes all day/night. We would get up at 5am and enjoy our pod coffee on the deck. Looking at the breaking white waves going over the sand bar entrance. And the cheeky mag pies and storm birds telling you, more storms are coming. And of course, the 150 year old pine trees in front of these cabins. Need I say more. Of a night, there’s not much lighting outside. In between the cabins. We always made sure we had a touch, because of the possibility of snakes. We had the screen door and the glass door open all evening. With a beautiful cool coastal breeze coming in. And not one mosquito or midge came in. We never used any Sprays, the whole time we were here. We would have liked a proper stove/oven. As there is nothing decent in town. To eat an evening meal. Instead you only get two hot plates. And the microwave, is under the bottom cupboard. When there is plenty of bench space, next to the sink. No Wine Glasses. No Non Stick Frying Pans, and No salt and pepper grinders. And one of the day beds next to the window, is badly torn. And needs to be replaced. There is room for improvement. And the car parking spaces are to small. Evans Head receives quite a few coastal showers thru the year, and heavy storms in summer.
