The ultimate ambiance-creating lamp for your tent or caravan.

Have you ever been blinded by your partner's head lamp in the tent? If that rings true for you, this camping level-up could shed some light on a clever solution.

The idea: shining a camping head torch through a waterbottle

Yes, you heard (read) that correctly. Remove head torch from your head, and place around a large water bottle, torch facing inward. This should refract the light and spread it our, while diffusing it at the same time.

The verdict:

Definite hack. It's awesome. And if the bottle has a handle, you can carry it around as a lantern like you’re living in the olden days.

Keeping the campsite safe

If you have ever tripped over the tent rope in the dark on your way to the loo, you'll appreciate the premise of this hack.

The idea: Pad your tent ropes with pool noodles

A cheap and simple solve to invisible tent ropes is the humble pool noodle. Cut down the long side of the pool noodles and place them your tent ropes inside them.

The verdict:

Cheap, safe and genius. Who knew kids could think safety was fun?

Amplifying music on your phone

A little campsite music gets everyone in the mood Whether it's time to get everyone up and going in the morning, or the ultimate chill out playlist for relaxing at the end of day with a nice cold drink.

The idea: diy volume booster for your phone music

Forgot your bluetooth speaker? No drama, this is a DIY volume-boosting speaker for your phone.

You will need:

• Paper towel roll
• Two paper cups
• Marker and scissors
• Phone

Grab a paper towel roll, and trace the bottom of your phone, then cut out that section. Next trace the circumference of the end of the roll, onto one side of each of your 2 cups. Now cut out those circles. Insert the roll into the sides of each cup and insert your phone in its hols. Now crank your favourite tune.

The verdict:

The music was definitely louder, the dancing wasn't any better. This is a soundtrack hack.
