Great if you're a sunrise walker or casual explorer.

Starting near Pat Morton Lookout, this scenic walk offers sweeping coastal views and a chance to spot dolphins or whales in season. The track includes some uneven sections and gentle inclines, making it ideal for active families and casual hikers. It’s short but rewarding, especially at sunrise or sunset.

The peaceful loop around Lake Ainsworth is a shady, easy walk with tea-tree-tinted water lapping at the shore and picnic spots along the way. Suitable for all ages, including kids, and great for a slow morning stroll or post-dip wander. Swimmers, paddleboarders and families especially love pairing this walk with a splash in the lake.

The Lennox Head Boardwalk is relatively short, with most commonly walked sections running along the coastline for around 1 to 2 km, depending on where you start and finish. It’s an easy, scenic walk with ocean views the whole way, making it perfect for families and sunrise or sunset walks.
The walk from Ballina to Lennox Head is roughly 10 to 12 km one way, depending on whether you follow coastal paths, beaches or shared recreation trails. It’s a longer, more active walk best suited to confident walkers, but the scenery makes it a rewarding half-day adventure.
Some of the best walks in Lennox Head include the boardwalk, the path up to Pat Morton Lookout, and the Lake Ainsworth foreshore loop. They all offer scenic ocean or lake views with easy access from town.
